About me :D

I'd say I'm a pretty sentimental person. Very... sentimental person.

I print probably a little too many photos, and half of them don't even picture me. Then, I typically proceed to cover every vertical surface around me with said photos. (pictured below)

I'm fairly sure that's why I'm such a fan of photography and videography. I'm a firm believer that since you cannot experience the same moment twice, it's worth it to capture as much of it as possible.

Sure, it'd be safe to keep the camera away and *enjoy the moment* during some of those super sentimental moments that you probably shouldn't record.

But in most of the most monumental or *epic* moments in my life, I like to be able to record my raw surroundings and document exactly what my world was like at that very moment in time.

CAPTURING HAPPINESS

Photo and video are avenues in which I can capture feelings. After shooting, I can then sit down to edit my photos to accentuate the atmosphere of the memory. With video, I can focus in on certain aspects and details of a memory that I 100% would not have remembered if I didn't.

I don't know if that makes sense, so I can explain I guess... With some sick photos. (I did not take some of these)

Kaposia Park, St. Paul MN

Fall 2018

This was one of those autumn days when the temperature was kinda just right. Sitting right at the edge of being a little chilly, but the sunlight and the warmth of the fall colors made it feel just right.

With every chilly gust of wind, these golden leaves would float to the ground like it was snow. THIS IS PEAK FALL KINDA STUFF.

The golden sunlight poured through the golden leaves as I stood there staring up at the fields of yellow covering the hills.

Manhattan Bridge, NY

July 2018

I was on a double decker going 60 mph down the Manhattan Bridge. You know, I'm not scared of heights but I was holding onto my camera for dear life and practicing my calm breathing at this point.

I open my eyes (finally), and there she is, the One World Trade Center. In all her majesty.

And so I slowly click open my Nikon, the wind whipping my camera strap into my face, and snap this photo.

Stillness. In all my panic, there's this perfectly centered photo of my friend Ryan admiring the skyline. If I could, would I have waited for that obnoxious pink bus to leave or have increased my f-stop? Yeah probably, but this is the rawness of the moment and absolutely the only photo I could muster as I feared my imminent (irrational) fall into the river below me. Good times.

Soma, California

June 2018

There's a whole lot of everything in this photo. The focus is on... nothing? I must say this was a rushed photo that required much more post-production than it should have, but that's a fairly accurate representation of the energy in this area.

Every has their AirPods in, taking a call (which looked funny with the AirPods) and walking full speed ahead, probably to another investor meeting to secure 100k in funding for their exciting new startup. Oh the stereotypes.

If you know me, I'm an aspiring entrepreneur, (who does in fact love her AirPods, and taking calls on them lol), who wants to live and work in Silicon Valley some day soon.

The moments spent here revitalized my love for the place. The sunlight was gently casting on the buildings at golden hour, the warm tones and glittering scenery reminding me of pure opportunity and livelihood.
